Playing Our Part

Our team consists of St. Xavier High School students who are all members of the Environmental Action Club. Our pilot program to promote environmental education was implemented at Madeira Elementary School in collaboration with Champions, their after-school program. 

 

In two groups (1st through 3rd grades and 4th through 5th grades), we have introduced over 45 young minds to various environmental topics while incorporating foundational STEM concepts like math and science. Our lessons are designed to provide both a baseline understanding and an in-depth exploration of each topic. These presentations are complemented by engaging, hands-on activities, ensuring an interactive and impactful learning experience that highlights the importance of Environmental Stewardship.

 

In the 2024-2025 school year, we are broadening our reach and impact to additional schools, including  St. Xavier Jesuit Academy.
